Job overview

Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer and 1st Tier automotive supplier, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.

Company overview

  • This position will suit an ambitious Project Engineer with demonstrable experience leading NPI projects within automotive manufacturing

  • As Project Engineer you will be responsible for leading the execution of new product projects ensuring on time delivery, quality and adherence to budget

Role responsibilities

  • In the role of Project Engineer you will lead NPI projects from concept through to production, ensuring product development milestones are met
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Attending customer project review meetings to align project requirements, timelines and deliverables
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Liaise with toolmakers on manufacturing timing and tool trials
  • Organise the shipment of trial samples to the UK
  • Organise / assist with measurement verification
  • Ensure that all new products meet customer requirements and industry standards
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including engineering specifications, design reviews and process documentation

Qualifications/experience required

  • MUST HAVE demonstrable experience of New Product Introduction within automotive industry
  • Project management experience within automotive manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, engineering design and quality standards (PPAP, APQP, FMEA etc)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations (IATF16949)
  • Working knowledge of CAD Software
