Our client, a successful injection moulding company, has retained our services to search for a Toolmaker to join their established team to support continued business growth.
Company overview
- As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the assembly, servicing and modification of injection mould tooling from base components using handheld tools or machines if required
- The successful candidate MUST HAVE experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools
- This is an excellent opportunity to work a Monday to Friday days only role in a well-equipped Toolroom
Role responsibilities
- As a Toolmaker you will maintain high standards of discipline, in the assembly, servicing and modification of injection mould tooling
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects within the group in terms of quality, customer satisfaction and profitability
- Ensure the accurate maintenance of records of all work carried out and preparation of clear concise descriptions of concerns and problems encountered for the night shift
- Fabrication/modifying components in a wide range of materials and joining techniques
- Attend design and manufacturing review meetings as required
- Investigate and advise of the procurement of bench tooling and equipment ensuring that the company utilizes the best equipment available
- Monitor mould try outs and analyze results
- Receive and store in an orderly manner and retrieve materials as required to complete tooling programs
- Ensure the company QA processes are adhered to by the group
- Maintaining knowledge of industry trends and developments
- Reviewing and improving upon processes and techniques

Qualifications/experience required
- Time Served toolmaker HNC or equivalent Mechanical and Production Engineering qualification
- Working knowledge of injection mould tooling preferably with large automotive tooling related experience
- Experience in Welding, Grinding, Turning, Milling, Spark eroding
- Flexible – able to adapt to changing requirement and circumstances
- Pro-active – keen to develop and improve current systems and processes
- Be a team player with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure
