Working closely with your client, an established injection mould tool manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Mould Toolmaker to join their team to support continued business growth.

  • The right Toolmaker candidate MUST HAVE experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools with the ability to read and understand technical drawings

Role responsibilities

  • In the role of Toolmaker, you will be required to manufacture, service, repair and modify injection mould tools to the highest standard
  • As Toolmaker you will assess the tools and components supplied by customers and investigate the best course of action for repairing or modifying the tooling
  • Methodically dismantling injection mould tools
  • Back engineer and document various parts of an injection mould tool and other components used in mechanical / precision engineering
  • Liaise with the toolroom manger to plan and priorities the workload
  • Maximise machine utilisation and overall equipment in an efficient manner
  • To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are always adhered to
  • Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, whilst maintaining a good appearance acceptable to our customers and management

Qualifications/experience required

  • Mechanical engineering qualification or toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools
  • Competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroder)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and models in both 2D and 3D
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to efficiently complete tasks on time and always maintaining the company’s high standard
  • Experience in CNC machining – EDM
  • Exposure to CAD and 3D modelling (Visi, NCG Cam, Machining Strategist)
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
