• Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking a Section Leader to join their team to support continued business growth

Company overview

• As a Section Leader you will be responsible for team supervision and quality of all components being manufactured within the department
• The role of Section Leader is to execute production plans to the highest efficiency, right first time and partake in and implement improvement activities to continuously improve the safety and welfare of the team, output performance and adhere to business objectives
• The successful candidate will be trained to level 3 or equivalent in injection moulding processing, alongside junior management experience within a similar environment

Role responsibilities

• Execution of production plan to meet efficiency targets
• Ensure production quality is maintained to required standards
• Participate in efficiency improvement programmes
• Abide by and ensure departments compliance with Companies policies and procedures
• Understand department members individual needs and requirements and maximise moral motivation within the shift and across shifts to maintain departmental relationships
• To attend and present DSUM’s and ensure excellent communication across all shifts through DSR, email etc
• Daily cross departmental (tool room, quality, planning, engineering, maintenance, assembly, etc) liaison
• Be fully skilled in all areas and activities within the manufacturing areas in the Moulding department
• Undertake production activities within the Moulding department when resourcing is required
• Inspection and measurement as procedures dictate
• Identify skills gaps within department’s members
• Demonstrate a duty of care to all colleagues, visitors, contractors or anyone else on site
• Conduct and report on Process Audits
• Ensure departments adherence to Health and Safety requirements
• Maintain and enhance departmental housekeeping standards

Qualifications/experience required

• Industry recognised injection moulding qualifications ideally at level 3
• Previous experience within injection moulding manufacturing
• Junior management experience
• ERM system experience desirable
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing
• Strong communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
