Our client, a leading manufacturer of robots & automation has retained our services to assist them in appointing a Service Engineer to join their established team.

As a Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and servicing of robotics and ancillary equipment into predominantly the plastic injection moulding industry
The successful candidate will have good robotics/automation machinery skills, and be electrically bias, with strong electro-mechanical skills and trained in 16th/17th or 18th wiring regulations. Ideally the role will be 70% electrical / 30% mechanical application
Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be flexible to the work schedule, as travel is required throughout the UK & Ireland
Role responsibilities
As a Service Engineer, you will take care of the installation & commissioning of robots and automation cells supplied to customers throughout the UK & Ireland. You will also carry out onsite and offsite training for customers, along with service and preventative maintenance work
Regular travel will be required during the working week. A company vehicle and fuel will be provided. Accommodation and subsistence expenses will be covered by the company
As Service Engineer you will provide breakdown assistance both at customers sites and by telephone
You will program and test new installations, and to make modifications to existing installations
The Service Engineer will be expected to travel within the UK and Republic of Ireland with extensive travel and periods away from home

The average gross salary for Service Engineers in this company can be up to £60,000 per annum dependent on applicant’s experience, skillset, knowledge, commitment & application
Qualifications/experience required
You will hold a recognised qualification in engineering, ideally technical training in electro-mechanical engineering
16th, 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations certification is essential
Previous experience working with robotics and/or automation is essential
A background in machinery maintenance, servicing and installation, ideally within the injection moulding industry: other industry sectors will be considered
Previous experience working as a Service Engineer will be highly advantageous
Excellent communication skills & a professional manner
Self-motivated, reliable and must be able to work unsupervised to tight deadlines, adhering to all Health & Safety working procedures
