Working alongside our client, an established manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions, we are looking for a skilled Injection Moulding Engineer to join their technical team to support continued business growth.

Company overview

  • As an Injection Moulding Engineer you will act as technical lead for the injection moulding machinery onsite driving improvement projects within the injection moulding area of the plant
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled injection moulding professional to join a forward thinking company at their impressive manufacturing facility kitted out with modern machinery and high level automation 

Role responsibilities

  • As an Injection Moulding Engineer you will be responsible for on site plant & machinery breakdown & servicing
  • Responsible for system changeovers & minor projects
  • As Technical lead you will work closely to support the Production Manager and Technical Manager
  • Fault finding of equipment with a view to minimizing machinery downtime
  • Take ownership of GMP and health & safety issues in the manufacturing area
  • Drive and support continuous improvement projects within the injection moulding area
  • Completion of Condition Monitoring tasks
  • Train and develop colleagues in processing, fault finding and repair
  • Set up / adjust / maintain machinery to peak efficiencies to produce products based on demand
  • Train, develop and mentor apprentices

Qualifications/experience required

  • Experience and technical understanding of injection moulding machines essential
  • Hydraulic & pneumatic troubleshooting skills
  • PLC programming, fault finding & control panel wiring experience
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults
  • Ability to implement process changes to affect material distribution, weights and other physical properties
  • Knowledge of mould tooling change procedures
  • Proficient in the use of engineering tools
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to fault find to component level
  • Willingness to learn and positive can do attitude essential
