Working with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their established team.
Company overview
- As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for effectively managing the Maintenance, Development and Site service teams to ensure plant/ equipment availability, reliability and performance
- You will be required to lead, manage and further develop a team of over 20 engineering colleagues, engaged in the maintenance of injection moulding machines, automation and ancillary equipment
Role responsibilities
- Provide a safe and effective reactive maintenance response to unplanned breakdowns
- Maintain an effective planned maintenance program
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for our manufacturing processes – thru monitoring production data and root cause failure analysis
- Manage maintenance and capital expenditure budgets
- Effectively manage spare part procurement and stockholding levels
- Identify and justify yearly capex projects - needed to keep the plant running at budgeted levels of performance
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers and sub-contractors
- Participate in safety, production, management and planning meetings
- Manage capex/ project procurement, installation and handover process
- Participate in maintaining a safe working environment and advocate safe working practices are always adopted by employees, including the management of contractors whilst working on site
- To comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures and promote good working practices throughout the workforce
- Continue to further develop the engineering team with internal and external training
- Oversee that the site complies to all company / UK health and safety legislation, in terms of inspection, servicing and remedials of buildings, plant and equipment

Qualifications/experience required
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in engineering management, ideally within an injection moulding environment however other manufacturing industries will be considered
- Strong technical knowledge of injection moulding machinery, automation systems, and ancillary equipment
- Track record of implementing effective planned and reactive maintenance strategies
- Experienced in managing capex projects from justification through to installation and handover
- Experience managing teams and leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Budget management experience, with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
