Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Production Manager to support continued business growth.

Company overview

  • This position will suit a Production Manager with prior experience within injection moulding or other plastics manufacturing disciplines and good people management skills
  • The successful Production Manager will oversee the daily production operations across all shifts with direct responsibility for leading and mentoring 4 Shift Managers and their direct reports
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives aligning with the company’s goals for safety, quality, efficiency and sustainability

Role responsibilities

  • As Production Manager you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and personal development, driving high performance across the production team
  • In the role of Production Manager you will be required to optimize production, manage resources effectively and ensure that all processes run smoothly and efficiently
  • Play a key role in the team to leverage innovative technologies and industry best practices to achieve company objectives, ensuring that production operations are both cutting edge and sustainable
  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure optimal use of resources and machinery, achieving production targets within set timelines
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high standards and minimize defects, driving a “zero defect” culture
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to continuously improve production efficiency, reducing downtime and increasing overall productivity
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production processes, reducing waste, and optimizing workflow through lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Stay informed about and integrate the latest industry trends, such as digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and smart factory technologies, to enhance productivity and innovation
  • Drive the adoption of automation, robotics, and advanced data analytics to improve production outcomes
  • Lead, manage, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and high performance
  • Provide clear pathways for career growth within the organization, encouraging professional development and advancement opportunities
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with other departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Manage production resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of materials, labour, and equipment
  • Oversee the production budget, controlling costs while meeting production goals and maintaining quality standards
  • Promote and develop a safe, ethical, and legally compliant work environment within the production team
  • Ensure all production activities adhere to safety regulations and standards, striving for a “zero accident” culture
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments on the production floor, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications/experience required

  • Demonstrable experience in a production management role within a high volume, fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Proven success in leading teams, improving production processes and achieving operational goals
  • Budgetary management experience
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards related to manufacturing
  • Proficiency in the use of production planning and data analysis tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
