Role responsibilities
- In the role of Toolmaker, you will be required to manufacture, service, repair and modify injection mould tools to the highest standard
- As Toolmaker you will assess the tools and components supplied by customers and investigate the best course of action for repairing or modifying the tooling
- Methodically dismantling injection mould tools
- Back engineer and document various parts of an injection mould tool and other components used in mechanical / precision engineering
- Liaise with the toolroom manger to plan and priorities the workload
- Maximise machine utilisation and overall equipment in an efficient manner
- To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are always adhered to
- Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, whilst maintaining a good appearance acceptable to our customers and management

Qualifications/experience required
- Mechanical engineering qualification or toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent
- Experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools
- Competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroder)
- Ability to read and understand drawings and models in both 2D and 3D
- Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
- The ability to efficiently complete tasks on time and always maintaining the company’s high standard
- Experience in CNC machining – EDM
- Exposure to CAD and 3D modelling (Visi, NCG Cam, Machining Strategist)
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
