Our client, a successful injection moulding company, has retained our services to search for an Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their established team to support continued business growth.

Company overview

  • As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the repair & service of injection moulding tools, responsible for the on-time delivery of tooling to the quality expected by the company
  • You will be involved in the manufacture and modification of injection  mould tools in a modern and well equipped toolroom, with Hurco machining centres, Sodick Wire eroders, Sodick CNC Spark eroders, Jones & Shipman surface grinders, in house design using Pro Engineer and CAM programming using Powermill  

Role responsibilities

  • Use of manual milling machines
  • Use of lathes
  • Use of surface and cylindrical grinders
  • Use of manual and CNC spark eroders
  • Use of CNC wire eroder
  • Modification & repair of Injection Mould Tools
  • Manufacture and fitting of new injection mould tools
  • Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws and grinders
  • Experience in general toolmaking, milling, grinding and fitting
  • Wiring of Hot runner systems and fault finding
  • Assist the Production Team in trouble shooting tooling and moulding faults
  • Ensure that the Company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to throughout

Qualifications/experience required

  • Experience in injection mould Toolmaking, and high precision machining Understand and have experience of fitting and assembly of complex mould tools including their repair
  • Have the ability to work to tight time scales without compromising quality and safety
  • Experience of preparing new Mould Tools for Production
  • Experience in general toolmaking, milling, grinding and fitting Experience in toolmaking, manual milling, turning, grinding, EDM Wire and spark erosion and fitting. CNC Machining experience an advantage
  • Candidate to have the ability to communicate well and be part of a team in a small business
