Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking to appoint a Toolmaker on a day’s role to join their established and successful team

- As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for ensuring optimum performance and safe operation of all mould tools to assist in the efficient running of the plant

- The successful Toolmaker candidate MUST HAVE experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools with the ability to read and understand technical drawings. This position would also suit a Bench Hand with good understanding of mould tooling
Role responsibilities
- Carry out breakdown maintenance on all moult tools, jogs, fixtures etc
- Carry out preventative maintenance on all mould tools, jigs, fixtures etc
- Carry out projects associated with tools, tooling and/or manufacturing equipment as requested by the Tool Room Manager
- Provide shift cover in the toolroom when required
- Attend college/training courses where applicable
- Ensure that housekeeping of the department is kept to a high standard
- Ensure the conformance to the company’s quality systems procedure as documented
- Ensure that mandatory PPE is worn when and where required, and that all duties are carried out in line with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy
- Undertake any duties as assigned on either temporary or permanent basis by the Tool Rom Manager or Senior Member of Management

Qualifications/experience required
- Time served apprenticeship in tool making, machining or engineering
- Knowledge of injection mould tooling
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes
- Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH regulations etc
- Basic electrical knowledge/Computer Aided Design (CAD) use and ability to read technical drawings
- Experience in the use of overhead cranes would be an advantage
- Forklift license an advantage
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or on their own
- Good literacy skills Logical problem-solving abilities
- Have a commercial awareness and understanding when making decisions
- Good problem solving and reporting abilities
