Experts in producing custom colour masterbatches, plastic compounds, additive and effect masterbatches and roto powders. Moulders in the UK and Europe rely on Broadway for high-quality products and fast turnarounds. Their colours are specified by leading brands and are used in many market sectors.
Broadway's range of additive masterbatches has been developed to aid processing or enhance properties of plastic components – helping to ensure your product performs in the desired fashion. Broadway's comprehensive range of additives can be tailored to exact manufacturing conditions and specific end-use requirements. Our additive range includes UV protection, anti-microbial, anti-counterfeit, blowing agent, mould-release, anti-static, odour neutraliser and laser marking solutions. Most of these additives can be supplied as a stand-alone masterbatch or incorporated within a colour masterbatch.
Broadway’s Frosted additive is the first PET additive on the market to give a true frosted effect and is particularly evident in trans colours. For opaque applications it provides a slight matt finish, this is useful if you need to achieve a matt finish, without having to change tools. Supra-Frosted does not affect printing or labelling, further increasing its versatility. The real advantage of this additive is that it can be added to any existing PET colour you have. Broadway's Frosted effect can be supplied either coloured and as an additive for natural bottles or to dose alongside existing formulations. Broadway's customers have said it's the best-frosted additive on the market.
Broadway's Endothermic Blowing Agent has multiple benefits. It causes a fine foam structure to form within the moulding, reducing the weight of the component by up to 10%. This allows for a reduction in polymer usage which can offer significant cost savings. A further benefit can be a reduction in cycle times, providing energy savings and reducing costs further. Not only does the inclusion of this additive reduce costs, but it also improves the carbon footprint of the moulded component.
2021 saw Broadway make a large investment in R&D with a new laboratory being built at their site in Holton, Suffolk. This investment has allowed Broadway to further develop their additive range, bringing new products to market such as their odour neutraliser and blowing agent. Broadway welcomes new enquiries for niche requirements.
Broadway's technical team are supported by a comprehensive range of analytical equipment including spectrophotometers, a QUV accelerated weather station and Xenon Arc UV chamber. Broadway are able to provide the highest possible accuracy and consistency with colours for plastics. Colours are combinable with one or more of Broadway's performance additives. They are currently researching the use of bio-pigments within their colourants. Broadway also boasts an impressive portfolio of special effects. Find out more at www.broadwaycolours.com.
