Why do I need to change my hydraulic oil?

Typically hydraulic oil will be changed when it is contaminated with particles and water in a system with insufficient filters or when it has been run at high temperatures for long periods.

How often should I change my hydraulic oil?

Guidelines on how often you should change your hydraulic oil are often stipulated by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The OEM has usually designed their machinery with insufficient filtration and therefore recommends regular oil changes. In reality, every user and user environment are different therefore the systems oil will become contaminated at different rates. So, the OEM’s must accommodate the worst environments and practices. Guidelines on how often you should change your hydraulic oil are often stipulated by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

Can I extend the life of my hydraulic oil?

Yes massively! At KLEENOIL we believe hydraulic oil is not a consumable item and if correctly maintained it will outlast most other components of a hydraulic system.

If I change my hydraulic oil regularly will I be trouble-free?

Replacing contaminated oil will never be detrimental to the system but to think it’s a cure to the problem is wrong. Even with flushing an oil change will be inferior to correct oil maintenance because barrel oil is not supplied clean (Many valve manufacturers stipulate using cleaner oil than can be bought off-the-shelf), the original contamination cause is still present and the new oil can be recontaminated within a matter of days. Replacing contaminated oil will never be detrimental to the system but to think it’s a cure to the problem is wrong.

Is an oil maintenance system expensive?

A good oil maintenance system won’t cost anything. It will pay for itself on the saving of oil replacement not to mention prolonging pump, cylinder and valve life. It will even save you on replacing your system’s current OEM fitted filter elements, which are usually far more expensive than the KLEENOIL system. A good oil maintenance system won’t cost anything.

Is it another hassle for me to manage?
