Tim Plunkett established Plunkett Associates 16 years ago and has never looked back. Tim is widely known in the industry; having already established two pioneering additive manufacturing companies, he launched Plunkett Associates, building on his wealth of experience and contacts across the globe.
Plunkett’s work with clients from their initial designs and prototyping, and provides support for design for manufacture and the transition to early production. They can then facilitate full scale manufacturing schedules if required.
Clients who are less familiar with material options and production processes rely on our experience and expertise to source the most appropriate solution. With access to a full complement of rapid prototyping (RP) technologies from stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) to the more conventional CNC machining and tooling technologies, there is no requirement too difficult to produce.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Today prototyping typically means layer based or additive manufacture. Having pioneered both Stereolithography and Selective Laser Sintering in the UK we are the specialists.
We have in house capability of DLP printing utilising a Figure 4 and its wide range of production grade materials including ABS and PP ‘like’, high temperature and flame retardant. Extremely fast printing speeds mean same day delivery is possible.
Moreover, we offer a full range of machining options for functional plastic and metal prototypes, providing the most appropriate process to meet your timescales, quantities and functional requirements.
We manufacture compression and injection mould tooling, designed to match your quantities and timescales. The option of having prototype parts in the production intent material may mean prototype tooling is a well worth a look. Manufacturing in high specification aluminium alloys, we configure the tooling to your requirements.
